Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

The job of an OMS

An OMS does a number of things. They provide safe and effective anesthesia in order to provide the following services: extract impacted and nonrestorable teeth (dentoalveolar surgery), replace lost teeth (dental implants), perform corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), remove complex tumors (oncologic surgery), rebuild faces damaged by injury or disease (reconstructive surgery), and relieve jaw pain (TMJ surgery). They also perform cosmetic surgery of the face, jaws, and neck.
